The Global Live Entertainment Ticketing Ecosystem
We partnered with TodayTix Inc. to architect and scale a high-performance, global ticketing platform that connects audiences to live entertainment. Rather than just maintaining existing code, we engineered a unified, hybrid system that bridges a robust legacy monolith with a new, ultra-low-latency microservices architecture, ensuring seamless real-time data fetching and on-demand purchasing. Every component was designed to work in harmony to deliver a frictionless experience for both the end-user and the internal operations team.
Live event ticketing is high-stakes and time-sensitive: real-time inventory, on-demand purchasing, and zero tolerance for downtime — while the revenue-critical core still ran on a legacy monolith that could not be torn down mid-flight.
A unified hybrid system: a new suite of Golang microservices connects directly with external theater platforms for real-time inventory and on-demand purchases, while the legacy Groovy on Grails monolith was maintained and extended in parallel. An internal provider configuration dashboard (Go + JavaScript) and fully automated CircleCI-to-Kubernetes deployments complete the picture.
End-users get blazing-fast, real-time purchasing; internal operations verify provider configurations before discrepancies ever reach customers; and both legacy and microservices environments run on high-availability, rapidly scaling Kubernetes infrastructure. Structured knowledge-sharing upskilled a highly senior team for the long term.
To handle the high-stakes, time-sensitive demands of live event ticketing, we designed and developed a new suite of Golang-based microservices. This integration layer connects directly with external theater platforms to fetch real-time inventory and execute on-demand purchases, delivering blazing-fast performance to the end user.
Recognizing the critical importance of the existing core, we actively maintained and extended the legacy Groovy on Grails monolith, strategically developing new features within this established system to ensure uninterrupted business continuity and revenue flow while the new microservices ecosystem was built out.
A self-contained, full-stack internal tool (Go backend, JavaScript frontend) that empowers the internal team to instantly verify and monitor third-party provider system configurations — preventing ticketing discrepancies before they ever impact the customer.
We modernized the deployment lifecycle by architecting a fully automated CI/CD pipeline via CircleCI, seamlessly provisioning and deploying containerized applications to Kubernetes for high availability, rapid scaling, and resilient infrastructure across both the legacy and microservices environments.
Beyond code delivery, we provided strategic engineering leadership to a highly senior team. By actively mastering Golang and establishing structured knowledge-sharing practices, we upskilled the team and fostered a collaborative engineering culture capable of sustaining and scaling the new architecture long-term.
“Our experience with your software integrations service has been top-notch. The team skillfully integrated our various systems, allowing for seamless data flow and helped us to move away from a legacy monolithic application.”
